On September 2, 2021, Landlab appeared at an Alnwick-Haldimand Township Council meeting with a request that Council ask the provincial government for a Ministerial Zoning Order to provide de facto approval for, and facilitation of, its Lakeport Beach development proposal.

Despite being turned down by A/H Council, Landlab turned to the Northumberland County Economic Development Committee which in turn made a request for Landlab Inc to make a delegation to Northumberland County Council on December 15, 2021.

This was over the objections of several residents.
